Adidas

The Adidas company was started by a man named Adi Dassler who had a very strong passion for creating sports shoes. He started Adidas in 1920 and ran his sporting shoes business based on 3 principles:

• Create the highest quality shoes to serve the sport
• Protecting the athletes from injuries on the field
• Make a long lasting product

Based on those 3 principles, Adidas has become one of the biggest sports companies and brands in the world.

The very first shoe ever produced was a handmade leather training shoe. After he makes the first training shoe, he begins to make other shoes for other sports. He makes shoes for football, baseball, and of course soccer. The shoes become popular when Olympic athletes start to wear them and win medals in the Olympic games.

Adidas then went on to create not only shoes but, sporting gear such as clothes, soccer balls, and other sporting equipment that is used in the game today. Adidas now creates sports equipment that professional sports use such as jerseys, pads, shoes, and game balls. They have become a worldwide known brand and have stuck to their 3 principles through the over 80 years of being in the sports business.

They now hold sponsorships in many different sports including football and soccer. With soccer being one of the most popular sports in the world, Adidas has invested a lot of advertising dollars to geared to the game. With that, they have become the leader in providing high quality soccer gear to fans and athletes around the world.
